Antecedent Soil Moisture Conditions Influenced Vertical Dust Flux: A Case Study in Iran Using WRF-Chem Model

نویسندگان

چکیده

Soil moisture is one of the most important parameters affecting dust emission flux. This study was conducted to investigate effects soil on vertical flux in central plateau region Iran. In this study, WRF-Chem (Weather Research and Forecast with Chemistry) model, GOCART (Global Ozone Chemistry Aerosol Radiation Transport) scheme, used estimate during a major storm from 19 21 July 2015, discriminate between sources. The results showed that Kyrgyz deserts Turkmenistan, Arabian Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Helmand Afghanistan are sources foreign dust. Additionally, desert plain identified as an internal source, where level reached 7000 µg m−2 s−1. simulation were verified reanalysis data MERRA2 AERONET Natanz station, which good agreement simulation. Based GLDAS reanalysis, content varied 2.6% 34%. Linear nonlinear regression values behavior following exponential function, correlation coefficient 0.8 strong negative association

Sensitivity of high-temperature weather to initial soil moisture: a case study using the WRF model

Using a succession of 24 h Weather Research and Forecasting model (WRF) simulations, we investigate the sensitivity to initial soil moisture of a short-range hightemperature weather event that occurred in late July 2003 in East China. The initial soil moisture (SMOIS) in the Noah land surface scheme is adjusted (relative to the control run, CTL) for four groups of simulations: DRY25 (−25 %), DR...

Soil Moisture Estimation in Rangelands Using Remote Sensing (Case Study: Malayer, West of Iran)

Soil moisture is generally regarded as the limiting factors in rangeland production. Although many studies have been conducted to estimate soil moisture in semiarid areas, there is little information on mountainous rangelands in west of Iran. The present study aims to investigate the soil moisture estimation in rangelands as compared to the other land uses over a mountainous area in central Zag...

a comparison of dust emission schemes in estimation of vertical dust flux in dust source regions of iran

the first step in studying dust events is the estimation of dust emission from sources. in this study, the simulations of the vertical dust flux (vdf) over iran by the mba (marticorena, bergametti, and alfaro) and shao schemes are compared. the mba scheme is energy-based and derived on the basis of energy balance between the kinetic energy of saltating particles and binding energy of the surfac...
